Family of 4 axle electric (freight) locomotives, built by Alstom

There are currently 3 versions of this loco in service:

Dual voltage version (25kV AC / 1500V DC) with SNCF as the BB 27000

Triple voltage version (15kV AC / 25kV AC / 1500V DC) with SNCF as the BB 37000

Quadruple voltage version (15kV AC / 25kV AC / 1500V DC / 3000V DC) - one demonstrator unit currently in test service with SNCF as the BB 47000

A passenger version is under construction for service in the Ile de France region, with deliveries starting in 2006 (to be designated BB 27300)

Alstom itself designates all these as the "Prima EL 4200 B"
